Health insurance in Switzerland
Denmark was not to pay Dane's health insurance in Switzerland
Case no. 174/2011
Judgment delivered on 21 November 2013.
A
vs.
Udbetaling Danmark (formerly The Danish Pensions Agency)
A lived in Switzerland and received pension from both Denmark and Switzerland. Under Swiss legislation, A was to be covered by health insurance in Switzerland. The Swiss health insurance scheme included an obligation to pay contributions.
The Supreme Court held that Denmark was not obliged to pay A's contributions to the Swiss health insurance scheme. The Supreme Court held, e.g. that the principle of the free movement of workers had not been violated in this respect.
The High Court had reached the same conclusion.
