A lorry driver who had been fined DKK 11,500 in the City Court and the High Court for four counts of infringement of Regulation (EC) No. 561/2006 of the European Parliament and of the Council (laying down rules on driving times and rest periods) was acquitted by the Supreme Court in one of the counts relating to the infringement of the rules on maximum daily driving time. Due to an administrative change of practice, the driver had been wrongfully punished for the offence, and since the parties concurred, the lorry driver was fined DKK 6,500.
